Gary Gustafson brings more than 30 years of business ownership, leadership, and entrepreneurial experience to his role as a Business Broker with Sound Business Brokers.
Throughout his career, Gary has started, acquired, operated, grown, and sold businesses across multiple industries, including automotive, construction, home services, and real estate investment. He has led organizations with more than 100 employees and tens of millions of dollars in annual revenue, giving him firsthand experience with the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that come with business ownership.
That experience provides Gary with a perspective on business brokerage that goes beyond the transaction. Having sat in the owner’s chair himself, he understands what it means to build a team, manage cash flow, navigate challenges, take risks, and spend years creating value in a company.
Gary works with business owners to help them understand the value of their business, prepare it for market, confidentially identify qualified buyers, negotiate the transaction, and navigate the process through closing. His approach combines practical business experience with a commitment to helping owners make informed decisions throughout the transition.
For Gary, selling a business is about more than numbers. A company often represents years—or even decades—of hard work, sacrifice, relationships, and accumulated value. He believes an owner deserves an advisor who understands not only the financial side of a transaction, but also what it took to build the business behind those numbers.
Whether an owner is ready to sell today or simply beginning to consider what comes next, Gary’s goal is to provide thoughtful, practical guidance from the perspective of someone who understands business ownership firsthand.
